Little Science Lab

Mindware approached The Product Greenhouse with a developed concept of a simple but engaging science experiment kit for young children. The product was not hitting cost targets, and was not on a schedule that would work for delivery to Target stores. We identified compliant manufacturers for the magnets, liquid bubbles, and color tablets, value engineered the components to hit the desired price point, and worked out the logistics to bring all components together for testing, production, co-packing, and delivery. The result? Awesome experiments that show the magic of science. Eureka!

Make your own Glitter Snow Globes

Mindware reinvented the Make Your Own Glitter Snowglobes to allow children to create a lasting tribute to their favorite people, places and hobbies. To keep memories safe, together, we engineered a no-leak, double seal system, as well as direct manufactured components made from different materials, including glitter, modeling clay, and plastics to substantially reduce costs. Although clay and glitter are challenging materials for compliance, we met standards and were able to pull the entire product together with dynamic packaging.

Makey Classic

After Internet success through Kickstarter, Joylabz needed their hit tech toy, Makey Makey, to reach the shelves of national retailers. Target was interested in carrying this fun, quirky invention kit, which allows anyone to connect everyday objects to a computer keyboard and turn them into touch pads, but wanted to see a retail ready packaging option. In collaboration with Merge Design + Interactive, we designed a striking retail package that justifies its $60 price point while lowering overall costs of manufacturing.

Monthly Subscription Coding Box

After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Bitsbox knew what they wanted to achieve with their monthly coding subscription box, but weren’t able to successfully source the materials and get their product made within budget. Strained for resources, we brought in an effective team to take on the burden of the work. Our knowledge and resources allowed them to get back to the work they do best – creating inventive toys for the coders of tomorrow.
